In the automotive industry, generational cycles of specific nameplates typically last about five years. During that five-year period, companies will add minor or subtle improvements to their vehicles in order to draw more customers and keep their products up-to-date. These improvements are usually rather small and are called mid-cycle updates or refreshes. However, the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander mid-cycle upgrade is catching the attention of the entire industry.
The current generation of the Outlander was introduced in 2013 as a 2014 model year vehicle. Mitsubishi has revealed that the 2016 Outlander model has over 100 improvements to previous year models, which the company attributes to the newer version’s outstanding success.
The new 2016 Outlander sports features like a redesigned exterior; a more refined interior packed with entertainment and navigational tech; better fuel economy and more insulated cabin; and better rigidity of suspension for a quieter ride. The IIHS has even awarded the car with the Top Safety Pick Plus title, meaning in addition to everything else, the Outlander is the height of safety.
With over 100 improvements, the Outlander mid-cycle upgrades have made an impression on its segment, to the point where the Outlander and its various trim levels are currently leading Mitsubishi’s sales. That’s no surprise either, considering the Outlander retails for about $200 less than its 2015 model. Come see the new and improved 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander here at Bakersfield Mitsubishi!
