The 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV builds on the success of the fuel-efficient crossover. The upcoming model promises to be even better, arriving with new drive modes and a better electric-only range. The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has been a long-awaited vehicle in the United States. Just one year after entering the market, the fuel-efficient crossover gets even better, arriving with a 10 percent increase in battery capacity. That increased capacity results in a more extensive electric-only range.

New Battery Pack

An increase in the electric-only range isn’t all the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has to offer. Thanks to the new battery pack, the Outlander PHEV’s top speed in Electric mode increases from 78 mph to 84 mph. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine comes paired with a dual electric motor. The hybrid system produces an impressive 135 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. The 2019 model will feature Snow and Sport driving modes. These two modes offer a change in grip and throttle response to maximize safety on the road.

Complete Driving Comfort

The Outlander PHEV’s steering, chassis, and brakes have been improved to increase driver comfort. The adjustments result in a quieter, more refined ride that makes heading into the city or on a family road trip much more enjoyable.
