Bakersfield Goes All Out for Dia De Los Muertos / Day of the Dead

Dia de los muertos
Sure, Halloween is a lot of fun, but don’t forget that it’s not the only exciting holiday in early fall. Come to the Kern County Museum Pioneer Village on November 5th for an authentic and fun Bakersfield Dia De Los Muertos/ Day of the Dead celebration!

The celebration, which runs from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm, will have something for everyone, including a kid’s area, traditional holiday activities for adults, music, food, and more.

The festivities will include a traditional Aztec processional and blessing, as well as live Mexican folk dancing and Mariachi music, so come dressed for a party and enjoy all the holiday fun, whether you celebrate every year or are attending for the first time. Family tribute altars will also be available so families can celebrate in their own way.

Kids will have a blast making sugar skulls, having their face painted, and other crafts. And of course, there will be more than enough authentic Mexican cuisine to go around so you can sample plenty of good food while you peruse a wide variety of vendor booths.

It doesn’t matter if you know absolutely nothing about the holiday or look forward to it all year: everyone’s welcome. And kids 6 and under get free admission, so bring the whole family!

Happy Dia De Los Muertos from Bakersfield Mitsubishi. We hope you have an extraordinary and safe fall season.
