Come out to Bakersfield’s premier winter light event: Holiday Lights at CALM. This holiday tradition has been voted Bakersfield’s Best Annual Event, so you and your family will not want to miss it. By visiting, you will be part of the 50,000 to 60,000 people who attend this event each year.
The event takes place at the California Living Museum, with the lights on display among plants and trees, all native Kern County. Not only will you get to see millions of lovely lights, but you will also get to enjoy music as you wander through the beautiful displays.
Some of the most popular displays—all created with energy-efficient LED lights—will be making a return, including the elephant herd and dinosaurs display. Furthermore, there will be holiday treats to choose from (or you can bring your own treats for you and your family to munch on), train rides on the Candy Cane Express, a carousel, and the museum store will be open for some holiday shopping. Of course, Santa will also be in attendance, so your children can chat with him and get their photos taken.
The Bakersfield Holiday Lights at CALM will take place from December 1st to January 6th from 5:30-9pm. All proceeds will go toward helping fund future exhibits and upkeep for the 35-year-old zoo. Bring your family or come along with friends to enjoy the marvelous lights and become overcome with holiday cheer!
