Trick-or-treat night is right around the corner, and if you aren’t already prepared, now is the time to stock up on candy and get the kids some costumes. Halloween is one of the best holidays to be a kid. When you’re out collecting candy this year, keep these Halloween safety tips in mind to ensure there’s no accidents along the way.
- Trick-or-Treat – Parents should remind the kids to keep an eye on the road and look both ways before crossing the street. Make eye contact with drivers before stepping foot onto the pavement. Kids under the age of 12 should have constant adult supervision while those 13 and older should stick to well-lit areas that they’re familiar with.
- Costumes – Check to make sure costumes fit before leaving the house and, preferably, before leaving the store. The last thing any parent or child wants is an accidental fall to put an early end to Halloween. Attach glow sticks to your child’s costume to make them easier to spot among the crowds as well.
- Drivers – Those who plan to be on the road during local trick-or-treat hours should minimize distractions and keep an eye on the road at all times. Make sure your headlights are always on. Avoid driving if possible.
Happy Halloween from all of us here at Bakersfield Mitsubishi!
