2019 Tokyo Auto Salon
The 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon took place in mid-January, and Mitsubishi showed up with a collection of exciting new concepts and new trim levels for existing vehicles. One of these was the unique Delica D5 Off-Road van, a big, boxy concept displayed in Standard and Urban Gear trims. This concept delivers both luxury and rugged performance, with skid plates and seven-spoke wheels, while the city-friendly Urban Gear comes with chrome accents and a body kit.
Take The Mitsubishi Delica D5 Off-Road
Sporting the ride-height of an SUV and a plastic-clad exterior for extra protection on off-road adventures, the Delica D5 Off-Road van concept brings the classic Mitsubishi Delica to new heights. Historically, the Delica has been sold on the international market as a cargo van; the D5 brings the Delica to the everyday driver, and the D5 Off-Road concept gives this powerful van even more broad capabilities.
Plenty Of Features
The Delica D5 Off-Road concept also incorporates a heavy-duty roof rack for easy storage of large camping gear, sports equipment, and more. Then there’s the all-wheel drive with a four-wheel drive lock, letting you shift into a mode where all four wheels receive the same amount of power for improved trail-driving. Mitsubishi also added sporty blackout paint with yellow trim on the “Street Sport” versions of the Outlander PHEV and the Eclipse Cross, two of the newest additions to the brand’s crossover SUV lineup, which sat alongside the Delica D5.
