In the wake of rising US sales for the auto company, Mitsubishi revealed a new concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month—a Mitsubishi plug-in hybrid-electric vehicle called the XR-PHEV—with plans to unleash the car to the public in 2016.
Mitsubishi says that the XR-PHEV couldn’t hit the road in its current form but does hint toward the future of the car in the United States. As it stands, the XR-PHEV model displayed at the LA Auto Show looks like it came straight out of the future.
Sales for Mitsubishi in the United States have been a large success, rising 29.8% through October with the Outlander Sport accounting for much of the numbers. “Our sales are up, we’re profitable and we’re growing,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president-Mitsubishi Motors North America.
We at Bakersfield Mitsubishi love the concept design for the XR-PHEV and hope to see it on the road as soon as possible. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
