Mitsubishi has done an outstanding job at keeping details about the all-new 2016 Pajero Sport SUV in the dark. There have been a few leaks and teasers but nothing substantial – until now. The Japanese automaker has put out the first official teaser trailer for the all-new 2016 Pajero Sport. With an impressive design, refined lines, and complete restyle, this brand-new SUV looks impressive.
The 2016 Pajero Sport looks like it will pack the Dynamic Shield styling seen in the Outlander’s design and rides with L-shaped LED daytime running lights. An X-shaped front grille, redesigned front bumper, and triangular taillights round out the other major changes.
Engine-wise, the Pajero Sport will pack both gasoline and diesel configurations. A 2.4L four cylinder MIVEC turbodiesel will launch in India while the gasoline variants will hit international markets. Mated to a five speed automatic or six speed manual transmission, the 2016 Pajero Sport looks like a contender.
The model teased in the trailer is a four-wheel-drive variant that’s expected to hit roads in India. The Pajero Sport is also rumored to come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Pricing and launch details are still in the dark but it looks like the Pajero Sport will compete with the Toyota Fortuner and similar SUVs.
