The 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander was recently awarded a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The IIHS is known around the industry for its rigorous evaluations, crash testing vehicles and looking at everything from engineering to driver assist technologies. The new Outlander received the highest score possible, making it an ideal family vehicle.
According to Mitsubishi, the new Outlander Top Safety Pick+ rating is a result of its extensive design and its suite of safety features. The new model year comes with seven airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, Hill Start Assist, Active Stability Control (with traction control), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring system. These are just some of the standard safety systems.
“At Mitsubishi Motors we are committed to safety and providing the best value for our customers,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president and chief operating officer, MMNA. “Competitively priced, the 2017 Outlander remains a leader in reliability and has expanded upon last year’s model enhancements with new advanced safety technologies.”
There are also a range of advanced driver assist technologies available on the 2017 Outlander, including Forward Collision Mitigation, Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning, and more. The 2017 Outlander safety is truly unparalleled, making this the perfect SUV for any driver.
