Previewing the upcoming Geneva Auto Show in March, Mitsubishi recently released photos of its latest concept car. This high performance hybrid SUV was a mystery until recently; however, fans still can’t wait to see the new model up close and personal.
According to CNET, the new Mitsubishi XR-PHEV Concept is a preview of the next-generation Outlander Sport. The new model will come standard with 2WD, a hybrid drivetrain, and a crossover design. Although this model originally appeared in 2013 at the Tokyo Auto Show, engineers have been hard at work fine-tuning it, until now.
So what’s so special about this new model? Although we’re still waiting on exact details, the new model will most likely boast around 400 hp thanks to a combination V6 engine and 100 hp electric motor. Not only that, but it will also be mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. If that’s not enough for you, the new model will also boast around 35 highway mpg, pretty impressive for such a powerful crossover.
Premiering on March 3rd, the new XR-PHEV Concept is bound to be a showstopper. We here at Bakersfield Mitsubishi can’t wait to see it.
