Though die-hard fans may be mourning the impending loss of the Lancer Evolution X, it doesn’t seem to be costing Mitsubishi anything in terms of sales.
The automaker has recently announced another excellent month with Mitsubishi March sales rising to 9,764 units, up 8.5 percent compared to March 2014. It was also up 19.9 percent in the first quarter of the year, marking the brand’s fifth consecutive quarter of double-digit sales increases.
A big part of this success can be attributed to the rising popularity of the Outlander and Mirage among customers. With 2,488 units, the affordable and economical Mirage subcompact delivered its best-ever month of sales since its re-launch; meanwhile, the Outlander enjoyed its best March since 2007.
That’s not to say the Lancer is any less attractive to shoppers though. The sports car sold 2,424 units, only down a little from March of last year.
