A lot of products tell you they’re the coolest, the biggest, the safest, the overall best – but how do you know? When it comes to cars, a good place to start for safety is with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) annual rating. This ranking system is one of the strictest and most well-respected processes in the country; essentially, what the IIHS says, goes.
And what’s the IIHS been saying lately? Oh, just that the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is one of the best in the business when it comes to safety.
The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander was awarded the renowned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating, meaning that they didn’t just stop at meeting the IIHS’s tough safety engineering standards – they exceeded them. This is the third year in a row that the Mitsubishi Outlander has received this prestigious accolade.
This Outlander features seven air bags, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Brake Assist amongst a laundry list of other high-tech standard and optional safety elements – no wonder they scored that IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating!
