Sometimes it’s hard to find things to do in the fall. It always feels like the busiest time of the year as the kids begin school again and parents have to schedule around work and extracurricular activities. To help make the fall more enjoyable, Bakersfield Mitsubishi has discovered some great fall family activities that your entire family will enjoy.
Think food. One of the first things people think of when they imagine fall is the food. Nothing is quite like pumpkin pie and caramel apples, and fall is the time of year when everything that’s been growing all summer long is being harvested. So what’s better than checking out your local farmer’s market, a pumpkin patch, or an orchard? You could grab plenty of fresh, wholesome treats and pick out a pumpkin for other fun fall activities.
Carve pumpkins. Pumpkins can be carved or painted. Carving is more traditional, and most stores like Target or Wal-Mart will have generic “carving tool” packages to help you through the process. However, if you have little ones who want to help and you don’t want them handling sharp edges, consider painting instead. It makes everything a little more colorful, too! Carving or painting pumpkins can be fun for everyone.
Take time for a picnic. Whether you grabbed fresh goodies from the farmer’s market or just went on a grocery run, picnics are also an excellent option for fall family activities. It gives the family the chance to take in the changing leaves and the crisp air. Biking or walking on trails is also good for this purpose, as well as snuggling up to a bonfire with s’mores.
Fall family activities aren’t hard to come by. Sometimes just enjoying the unique tastes and changing temperatures of this time of year can make fall a little more fun for everyone.
