Road Trip Games To Play During the Thanksgiving Drive

Family kids in car - road trip games

If you’ve got a Mitsubishi Outlander, you might think you’re all set for holiday travel. Great technology, top-of-the-line fuel economy, interior versatility… what could you be missing? The car is only half of getting there, however, and the other half is actually transporting your family. These road trip games are sure to keep everyone engaged on that long drive to Thanksgiving.

Learn Along the Way

This game is a great way to educate your kids without them knowing. Keep maps on hand, as well as information about the cities and/or states you’re passing through. You can have them mark where you are on the map and read the information aloud.

I Spy

This one’s a classic, but if you still need any explanation, people in the car will take turns saying “I spy with my little eye” and then describe an object they see with a clue, such as “something that’s the color blue.” Then, everyone else has to guess what it is.

The Name Game

For this one, everyone takes turns naming a person, place, or thing that starts with each letter of the alphabet. The first person starts with A, next person uses B, and so on.

For long trips, play this at the end of the day and ask everyone what their favorite part of the day was. For short trips, stick to general favorites, such as ice cream flavors.

Play these road trip games with your family to keep your family entertained and happy on the road. If you need a new vehicle for the trip, make a stop at Bakersfield Mitsubishi.
