For the 2019 Rebelle Rally, Team Record the Journey drove the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross in the competition. The team performed well, earning 1,265 points and a second-place finish in the Crossover Utility Vehicle class.
U.S. Army and Air Force Veterans Rachael Ridenour and Karah Behrend were part of Team Record the Journey. Behrend was the first adaptive-athlete driver to complete the Rebelle Rally as well as to receive a spot on the podium.
Ridenour and Behrend exhibited impressive navigational, communicative and driving skills. Based on votes from their competitors, they also won the 2019 Rebelle Rally Team Spirit Award for being inspirational.
Behrend drove a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross outfitted with hand-controls. To better handle the grueling competition, the SUV also received an LED light bar, a bash bar, a cargo basket, a roof rack and all-terrain tires.
Mitsubishi worked with Team Record the Journey as part of the “Small Batch – Big Impact” program. The Eclipse Cross will now be used to help the nonprofit Record the Journey, which supports veterans.
